The Heinrich Kirchner Sculpture Park – Guardian in the Garden of Eden

The bronze Guardian in the Garden of Eden welcomes visitors at the entrance to the Burgberggarten. The tall figure stands on long tubular legs and is raising its right hand in warning. As the inscription on the base explains, the guardian is calling upon the need for a sustainable approach to nature. This is the basis for human life. The figure can be understood to be a warning custodian and protector of the world. Its function as a guardian is represented by the oversized ears, which symbolise watchfulness.
